Background

Edupi Migration is a migration agent that specialises in the hospitality industry. They help Australian hospitality venues find, and sponsor experienced chefs and cooks from overseas on Temporary or Permanent skilled employment visas.

MarketingHQ began working with Edupi Migration in 2016 as a Fractional CMO client. At the time, Edupi had a half-written marketing plan and no expertise (or time) to implement any marketing activities. They strongly desired to improve their marketing and began working with us to make that happen.

Our Approach

Our engagement began with a half-day discovery workshop to develop a clear understanding of their business and marketing requirements.

From the workshop, we developed the insights to complete their marketing plan. We identified some "quick wins" that would help increase their online visibility and revenue in the short term. These included:

  • Update their website, adding content, metadata, and landing pages with contact forms to capture leads
  • Blog writing targeting specific keywords to increase organic website traffic.
  • Update all marketing material with a consistent look and feel including all social media channels.
  • Set-up email marketing campaigns targeting venues and current clients to inform them of industry updates.

Covid-19 Challenges

In 2020, when the Australian Government ordered the closure of hospitality venues and closed international borders, we held a workshop with Edupi to develop some new marketing strategies to help them navigate the challenges of Covid-19.

Both MarketingHQ and Edupi felt the best way forward was to help clients (both Chefs and Hospitality Venue's) navigate the challenges of 2020 with important content and updates affecting the hospitality industry.

Throughout 2020 we produced and distributed important content including:

  • Job Keeper Guidance Manual
  • Covid-19 Migration Fact Sheet
  • Migration Guidebook for Temporary Visa Workers
  • Temporary Visa Holders Covid-19 Fact Sheet

As new information was provided by the Department of Home Affairs regarding skilled Visa's, we packaged them into easy to understand manuals and fact sheets for clients and hospitality venues to understand their obligations.

What was the result?

Edupi has continued to grow through our relationship and now employs 10 staff due to the significant growth in revenue. In fact, since 2022, year-on-year revenue has grown by over 30% and is on track to grow by 45% for 2025.  Since 2016, we have increase website traffic by 500% and their email open rate is consistently above 50%.

Due to our highly targeted marketing activities during Covid, Edupi Migration became the go-to source for information regarding managing staff on skilled visa's. New clients brought their work over to Edupi Migration as they were being provided with limited information from their current migration agent.  Edupi continue their growth during covid and employed two new migration agents to manage the increased demand. They have not only survived the downturn in the hospitality, but grown as a result investing in a Fractional CMO.

When we met MarketingHQ we realised that there was a company out there that would do all the work for us, develop a meaningful and measurable strategy and do it with a minimal level of disruption.
